Strengthening the Group’s growth with a new Delivery Center in Cairo

Trimetis Group, a Vienna-based consulting and IT services company with several holdings, is now strengthening its delivery capabilities in the software sector with a new delivery center in Cairo. Egypt is placing significant focus on expanding as an offshore location for Europe; Trimetis and many other international IT service providers are seizing this opportunity.

“The IT skills shortage in Europe prompted us to seriously consider expanding to nearby foreign countries, beyond the borders of Europe. We currently operate an IT nearshoring center in Poland and have been preparing for months to expand to a location outside of core
Europe. Cairo is an extremely interesting and suitable location for us, and in our evaluation process finally prevailed over a number of other interesting options in and outside Europe. In addition to very good infrastructure and a high level of education, we can also draw on a broad talent pool in Cairo. The English language skills as well as the same time zone are good additions to the overall package,” elaborates Gottfried Madl, CEO and Head of Application Services at Trimetis.

The Egyptian Government and ITIDA are very actively supporting the investment endeavors as it is set to generate an additional USD 1 bn a year in digital export revenues by 2025, as Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, explained. “These agreements reflect Egypt’s conducive business environment and multinationals’ confidence in our qualified local talent.” Talaat commented.

This commitment, shown in the agreements’ signing event, drives foreign investments in the IT sector and actively seizes a sizeable piece of the global demand in the sector.

It is for this reason that Trimetis Group founded its newest software development office location in Cairo: “It’s about expanding high-quality and rapidly scalable IT services for existing and future clients.”, comments Christoph Drescher MBA, Operations Director and CEO of the newly founded company in Cairo.

In closing, Mr. Drescher reports: “In doing so, the newly established center in Cairo will provide high-quality IT services as part of an integrative service chain with the other Trimetis locations – in this case, however, primarily with the center in Poland. In addition to software development, we will also focus on software testing. Cairo has an extensive pool of specialists in both areas,” Drescher continues.”

Christoph Drescher says: “We are proud that we were able to complete founding of the company and the initial staffing  in a very short time and that we already can start providing software development services for our customers by the end of this year.”

It is evident that Egypt is placing great emphasis on Europe’s offshoring industry and is setting the stage for the country being the next big hub for digital and high-end services.
